Greetings: My name is Gerry Plank. I play saxophone, write music, and teach.
My sons enjoyed watching their dad perform with Kenny Rogers, Joe Bucher, and with them. My, how they grow up quickly!

Greetings:
Welcome to my music studio. I am offering multi genre ((from classical and jazz)) music lessons on all band instruments including beginning piano.
Lessons are administered during the school year and summer (please see dates**). I also offer individual lessons for those students who are engaged in a preparation for auditions. Each school semester offers eleven lessons at a cost of $15.00 per lesson. If a student chooses to pay for the lesson block ahead of time then the eleventh lesson is free, therefore, assuming a cost of $150.00. Lessons may be paid on a visit by visit basis with no discount. Students will not receive credit for lessons missed. A minimum of a one week notice must be provided in order for the fee to be waved. Special circumstances will be taken into account.
1. Lessons are one half hour in length and are in my home. Each lessons will stress fundamentals of playing an instrument, including but not limited to correct posture, hand position, breathing (where applicable), embouchure, articulation, and theory.
2. Students are responsible for purchasing all lesson book materials, reeds, oils, and instruments (as with purchasing any new item there is a wide variety of qualities out there. Please do not purchase an instrument without consulting me first. I offer consultation on purchasing an instrument free of charge).
3. Practicing - I strongly suggest students being prepared and setting aside time to practice every day. In any economy lessons are privilege. Students will reap the reward of giving consistent and strong effort.
I teach a method of practicing that is utilized by The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra players. It is an awesome and proven method that my students have had tremendous success with.
4. If I miss a lesson because of a schedule conflict I will let you know as quickly as possible. This does not happen often. We will schedule a makeup.
What do I need to know from you?
1. All of your contact information including name, phone, and email address.
2. What day (or night) of the week are you interested in lessons?
3. What instrument(s) would you like lessons on?

"Teaching"
I have given lessons since 1977. I have a bachelor of music education degree from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (where I graduated with honors). I have taken many students (over 134 times) to state solo and ensemble and received first place finishes in all genres of instrumental music. Having tutored successful (8 separate musicians several more than once) candidates for entrance in the state honors band for both middle and high school has been a labor of love. My resume also features two exemplary soloists at state solo and ensemble with the latest one (2010) having performed at the WSMA/WMEA event in Madison in October of 2010. I have been selected as a “Who’s Who” educator five times in my career.
